The small Kaika cosmetic pouch is made of unbleached heavyweight upholstery cotton in the Mini Unikot Ralli pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The pouch has a zipper closure, a polyester lining on the inside, and a stain repellent finish on the outside. The inside lining is made of 100% recycled polyester. With its organic, sympathetic blooms and architectonic stripes, the Unikko Ralli print is an inspiring fusion of two Maija Isola designs from the 1960s. Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity. The dynamic stripe pattern Ralli (rally race), created by Maija Isola in 1969, was inspired by the streamlined tapings seen on traditional racecars. In the print, sophisticated vertical color blocks constitute a well-balanced design.
